Biography

M. Ehsan Hoque is an associate professor of computer science at the University of Rochester, where he co-directs the Rochester Human-Computer Interaction (ROC HCI) Lab and previously served as interim director of the Goergen Institute for Data Science. His research applies artificial intelligence, machine learning and computer vision to model human behavior and amplify human ability, including national-scale AI health systems. He is a recipient of the U.S. Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) and was named to MIT Technology Review's Innovators Under 35. He completed his PhD at the MIT Media Lab in affective computing.
